Let me share my years of experience with you on how to take care of your gemstones. This time we will talk about only Sapphires, Rubies, Emeralds and Opals and my tips will continue coming up.

1. Sapphires (Ceylon Origin), Ruby (Burma/Thailand Origin)

No specific care is required for them, however, please ensure that while viewing or showing these gems to your customers, always clean them with a cotton cloth and if possible sylvet, otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy the real value/charm of Sapphires of Ceylon origin. However, when you keep them all-toghether in a single packet (for wholesellers who keep 30-40 pcs of them in a packet) ensure that they dont scratch up by themselves.

2. Emeralds (All Origins), Rubies/Sapphires (Africa/Indian Origin)

Emeralds are bit delicate in nature. Always ensure that if you keep the Emeralds in your safe/custody, that means when you are not wearing them, apply little oil (any oil except coconut oil) gently on the jewel every 10-15 days. It will really be good if you can do the same on your Emeralds studded in jewellery items as well, every 15 days. This is very necessary since Emeralds always need air and water to be perfect in all respects.

3. Opal (All Origins)

Again like Emeralds Opals need even more care. Apply the same procedure as depicted for Emeralds above but here you can use Coconut oil, it will be even better.

Thats all for now, I shall come back with more tips.
